REQUIREMENTS FOR PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS WISHING TO APPLY

To study pharmacy in Bulgaria, prospective students must meet certain requirements.

They must submit the application form and all the documents required by the university. The necessary documents must be translated and include the high school diploma certified by Apostille which should indicate the grade in chemistry and biology, not lower than 62% of the highest grade from secondary education in Greece.

For the Sofia Medical University, applications are not accepted if the grade of biology and chemistry is not indicated on the diploma.

In addition to the necessary application form and accompanying documents, the candidate takes an entrance test in Biology and Chemistry.

If you want to study in English-speaking departments, the test in chemistry and biology is conducted in English.

At the Sofia Medical University, in addition to the entrance test, prospective students are subject to an English language proficiency test.

It is also important to know that you must have passed the national exams and present the necessary Certificate stating that you have the right to continue your studies in higher educational institutions in Greece, validated with Apostille to be able to enroll in any university in Bulgaria.

Given the significantly simplified admission procedure for the Pharmacy specialty, the number of Greek students in Bulgaria is very high.

The tuition fees are relatively low, the level of education is very high and with many hours of practical training.

In the last 4-5 years there has been an increase in the number of Greek students who, after completing their studies and obtaining a professional license with a postgraduate degree, start working in Bulgaria either as pharmacists or by opening their own private pharmacies.

This is due to the close distances between the two countries, so that graduates do not lose contact with their families, the good pay for pharmacists in Bulgaria, as well as the opportunity to have their skills recognised in a foreign country.

LIVING EXPENSES IN BULGARIA

In addition to tuition fees, including the 3000 E semester fees, international students in Bulgaria pay monthly rent for fully furnished apartments. Together with our partners you can view various apartment offers according to your criteria.

Living costs are quite high in Sofia. Plovdiv is a considerably more economical city. The distances are shorter and the cost of travel for students is reduced considerably.

The costs of electricity, water, communal areas, internet and water are much lower than in Greece. You should keep in mind that the price of the rent does not include these expenses.

In order to ensure your peace of mind and the correct monthly payment of your apartment expenses, the SB Academy team will give you specific instructions, help you to make the necessary registration, so that you can pay your expenses electronically.

Based on our experience so far, we can safely say that the total monthly expenses of a foreign student in Bulgaria are about 1000 E – 1200 E per month for the city of Sofia and about 800 E – 900 E for the city of Plovdiv.
