VETERINARY MEDICINE AT TRACHIA UNIVERSITY STARA ZAGORA
The School of Veterinary Medicine has a grade of “APPROVAL” of the European accreditation process of EAEVE based on the ECOVE decision from 19.11.2015.
The Department of Veterinary Medicine prepares future veterinarians with the ability to manage, organize and implement comprehensive health care activity – prevention, treatment and maintenance of productivity of farm animals, pets (domestic animals), game, bees, beetles and fish. , as well as free (private) veterinary practice.
The annual fees are 5100 euros.
International students wishing to study in the English-speaking departments take the entrance exams in biology and English.
Foreign students wishing to study in Bulgarian-language departments take a year of preparatory courses in Bulgarian at the university and the following year they take an entrance examination in chemistry and biology in Bulgarian.

Stara Zagora is a city in southern Bulgaria and is the sixth largest in the country. REQUIREMENTS FOR PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS WISHING TO APPLY
In order to study veterinary medicine in Bulgaria, foreign prospective students must take the entrance test in biology for the Forestry University in Sofia and an entrance test in chemistry and biology for the Thracian University of Stara Zagora.
If they want to study in English, the exams are in English.
In addition to passing the entrance exams, prospective students will be required to present to the university their secondary school leaving certificate from Greece, certified with the Hague Seal, which should include a grade in chemistry and biology of not less than 62%.
If there is no chemistry or biology grade on your high school diploma, contact us for instructions on documents that can replace the missing grade.
It is very important to know that in order to enroll in Bulgarian Universities you need a certificate from your high school that you have passed the national examinations with the Hague Seal. The grade from the Panhellenic examinations is not taken into account when you are admitted to the Bulgarian Universities.
Admission to Bulgarian Medical Universities is much easier for foreign prospective students than admission to study in Greece.
The number of Greek students in Bulgaria is extremely high due to the relatively low tuition fees, the ease of admission, the high level of education, the proximity between the two countries and the good lifestyle of the students.
LIVING EXPENSES IN BULGARIA
In addition to the declared study costs, including tuition fees of E 4600 or E 5100, foreign students in Bulgaria pay a monthly rent for fully furnished apartments.
The cost of living is higher in the capital Sofia. Stara Zagora is a significantly more economical city. Rents are cheaper, distances are shorter and transport costs are reduced accordingly.
Significantly lower than Greece is the cost of electricity, water, public spaces, internet. You should keep in mind that the rental price of the apartments does not include these costs.
