But where can you study veterinary medicine in Bulgaria?

In Bulgaria there are two universities offering veterinary studies. The first is the Forestry University of Sofia and the second is the University of Stara Zagora.

Sofia Forestry University offers a comprehensive veterinary medicine programme that prepares students for a successful career in animal health. The curriculum includes courses in anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, surgery and clinical skills, among others. Students have access to modern facilities and state-of-the-art equipment and receive excellent practical training.

Graduates of the programme are well equipped to pursue careers in the private sector, research, public health and more.

In this article we will look at the requirements and dates for the entrance exams for studying at the Sofia Forestry University.

All candidates to start their studies in the English-speaking veterinary medicine curriculum must take the entrance test.

Candidates for veterinary medicine are tested in biology in English.

The syllabus is in accordance with the syllabus taught in Bulgarian high schools. In Bulgarian high schools, anatomy is included in the biology course.

The tuition fees for the academic year 2023/2024 at the English-speaking Department of Veterinary Medicine at the Forestry University of Sofia are 4600€/year.

Tuition fees are paid in 2 instalments before the beginning of each semester.

To be able to enrol in the first year a student must have passed the entrance test with good marks and have a complete enrolment file.
