Do I have to apply for the Panhellenic exams ?

Yeah, if you’re a senior in high school. If you are successfully completing your school year and want to start your studies in your home country or abroad.

Is it compulsory to participate in the Panhellenic / Pancyprian examinations?

Yes, if you want to receive a certificate of attendance from the secondary school administration so that you can start studying in higher education.

Why do I need a high school diploma?

Without a high school diploma you cannot start your studies in higher education.

What will happen if I do not participate in the Panhellenic / Pancyprian examinations?

If you wish, you can receive a certificate from the secondary school administration that after your participation in the Panhellenic / Pancyprian examinations you can continue your studies in higher education.

You should know that with such a certificate you will only be able to enrol in a language preparatory year at a foreign university.

Can I take the Panhellenic / Pancyprian exams later?

Yes, you can still take the exam next year. After the exams (regardless of your score) you can apply to any university in Bulgaria you want.

Can I apply to a university in Bulgaria only with my scores from the Panhellenic / Pancyprian exams and without taking the entrance exams?

No. The scores from the Panhellenic / Pancyprian examinations are not taken into account when determining the student’s score for admission to the university of his/her choice in Bulgaria. Here for each university there is an entrance examination.
